Battery Passport data points: turn the August 2026 guidance into a collection plan

The Commission’s updated guidance brings together 71 data points and indicates how they apply across EV, LMT and covered industrial battery categories. The practical job is to identify which data you own, which suppliers own, and which systems must make it available.

1. Confirm category: EV, LMT, or industrial battery above 2 kWh.

2. Map each relevant data point to its legal/source reference and category status.

3. Tag the system of record for each data point.

4. Separate internally owned data from supplier-dependent data.

5. Assign an owner and collection deadline for every missing field.

6. Map access-right and disclosure requirements before choosing a passport platform.

7. Prepare identifier / DPP Registry responsibilities alongside the passport data itself.
